This category contains information about running the Eggdrop IRC bot from ports on FreeBSD. About a year ago at the time of writing this (april 2009), the Eggdrop freebsd port was finally updated to the latest version. After that, I decided to try running it from ports instead of downloading the source and compiling like I had aways done until that point. It has a couple of advantages over the traditional method, namely ease of updating and conformance to hier(7). This category contains pages related to that topic.
